 Jazz has signed an agreement to split its network in Lahore Jazz has signed an agreement to connect all of its mobile towers directly to fiberglass in Lahore. The optical infrastructure and services provider, Nayatel, has teamed up to lead this Fiber to the Site (FTTS) project, which is expected to be completed in December 2022. FTTS is a network connectivity solution that allows any mobile site to transmit up to 10Gbps of traffic at much shorter latencies and better network availability and stability. After completing this project, Jazz subscribers will experience faster download speeds, seamless online gaming, and better audio and video calls over IP applications.  The GSMA recommends abolishing the income tax advance on telecommunications services The Global Mobile Industry Association (GSMA) has proposed the phasing out of advance income tax (AIT) on telecommunications services. According to the GSMA, this will improve the affordability of mobile services and encourage the uptake of communication services in the country. The GSMA wrote a letter to the Federal Revenue Office (FBR) and IT and telecommunications minister Aminul Haq, recommending that the AIT be reduced from 15 percent to 8 percent in the upcoming federal budget. It further emphasizes that, in addition to general taxes, mobile consumers face a heavy burden of sector-specific taxes. It is worth noting that there is a tax of 19.5 pct. is selling mobile services and 15 pct. AIT, which makes it the highest tax in the region.
