The Govt is Extending Subsidy Period for NAPHDA Projects       The federal government has decided to extend the markup subsidy period from 10 to 15 years due to the higher debt burden ratio (DBR) and low socio-economic ranking of the Tier category applicants under Naya Pakistan Housing and Development Authority (NAPHDA) projects.   Sources told ProPakistani that the federal cabinet, on the summary of the Cabinet Division, approved to extend markup subsidy period from 10 to 15 years with reduced customer pricing such as 2 percent per annum during the first five years and 4 percent per annum during five to 10 years and 5 percent per annum during 10 to 15 years.  The NHA Fails to Table a Commercially Viable Business Plan After 9 Months The National Highway Authority (NHA) has failed to prepare a commercially viable business plan in nine months. Sources told ProPakistani that the Federal Cabinet in January 2021 had directed NHA to prepare a commercially viable business plan, linking debt restructuring, in nine months by hiring a consultant through an international competitive bidding process. Sources revealed that a sub-committee headed by Deputy Chairman Planning Commission along with Secretary Finance, Secretary EAD, Secretary Communication as members, and Chairman NHA as Secretary of the committee had also been constituted to continuously review the progress on the preparation of NHA’s business plan. Power Cement to Set up Solar Power Plant in Jamshoro Pakistan 2022

        Power Cement Limited has decided to set up a 7 megawatt (MW) solar power plant to curtail the electricity expenses of their plant in Jamshoro, Sindh. According to the stock filing, an agreement was recently signed between Power Cement Ltd. and Burj Solar Energy Limited for the procurement of electricity on a fixed tariff for the next 20 years. The tariff of this power plant is 40 percent lower than the existing tariff.
