 The Chinese company will build an electric car plant in Karachi


When the government announced the country's first electric vehicle policy, many companies began to show interest in building electric vehicle (EV) factories in the country. The Chinese company Gauss Auto Group today announced the construction of a factory for electric cars in the Special Economic Zone of Pakistan near Port Qasim in Karachi.

The move comes after a delegation led by Chen Feng, CEO of Gauss Auto Group and CEO of AKD Group Holding, Mr. Nasir Rizwan, visited the Investment Board (BOI). They also held a detailed meeting with the advice of Federal Investment Minister Chaudhry Salik Hussain and BOI Secretary Fareena Mazhar. The Chinese company, a joint venture (JV) with limited AKD Group Holdings (Pvt.), Has decided to build a factory in Karachi on approximately 1,000 acres of land. The delegation also discussed some of its plans to export locally produced electric vehicles from Pakistan to other countries. The company also praised the BOI's leading position in the car variants it already manufactures.

On the other hand, the BOI Secretary briefed the delegation on the recently launched electric car policy in Pakistan. As well as this policy will provide benefits to current and new producers.

The BOI management has encouraged Gauss Auto Group to invest in the Pakistani automotive industry. It also promises maximum support and speed for the company.

It is worth mentioning here that Gauss Auto, a company registered in Silicon Valley, California, operates in Shanghai, China. In addition, the company also focuses on car innovation and development and resource integration. The location of their electric car factory in the country will definitely help the country to reduce price increases.
