The Central Working Group on Development (CDWP) on Friday recommended four Rs development projects. 352.9 billion to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) for approval.

The forum covered four projects, including the construction of Hyderabad-Sukkur (306 km), 6 lanes, the construction of the northern part of the road from Warsak Road to Nasir Bagh Road and the restoration and renovation of Gujjar and Orangi Nullahs. .

The CDWP recommended the construction of Hyderabad-Sukkur (306 km), a 6-stream separation gate according to the ECNEC BOT standard. The total cost of the project in the amount of Rs. 308.19 billion and the project will be implemented by the NHA.

The highway is designed as a high-speed toll facility for efficient and safe transport, starting in Hyderabad (end of the Karachi-Hyderabad M-9 highway) and ending at the Naro canal (beginning of the Sukkur-Multan-M-5 highway). ). Project coordination will take place through Jamshoro, Tando Adam, Hala, Shahdadpur, Nawabshah, Moro, Dadu, Naushahro Feroze, Mehrabpur, Rasoolpur, Larkana, Khairpur and Sukkur. Scope of work

The scope of work includes the construction of the main bridge over the Indus River, 15 intersections, 6 overpasses, 19 overpass bridges, 76 canal bridges, 154 underpasses, 137 Cattle Creeps and a drainage structure. The aim of the project is to improve the flow of traffic on the Karachi-Lahore Motorway (KLM) section, ie from Hyderabad to Sukkur. Completed with advanced facilities, the proposed highway will provide an efficient smart corridor for local and international traffic, thus helping to stabilize and balance Pakistan's economic growth.

The forum also recommended the construction of a project for the northern part of the ring road from Warsaw Road to Nasir Bagh in KP to ECNEC. The total cost of the project in the amount of Rs. 14.7 billion, fully funded by the government of Khyber Pachtunkhwa and will be completed in 3 years. The project envisages the construction of a 6-lane northern section of Peshawar Ring Road from Warsak Road to Nasir Bagh Road with a total length of 8.7 km. The scope of work includes the construction of a 3-lane with a two-lane road, intersection, flyover, bridges, branches, underpass, retaining walls and relocation of engineering networks.

The project aims to address the traffic problem facing Peshawar, in particular on Warsak Road, GT Road, Khyber Road and Jamrud Road and at the intersections on these roads.

The aim of the project is to provide a bypass that runs between the northern and Afghan regions and travels between the city and the border on the north side of GT Road - Jamrud Road N -5) and Hayatabad Town, Khyber Agency and Regi Model Town, Askari-6, DHA and others. . It will provide an alternative route for urban transport and open up new areas of development to place the city's growth in a radial pattern instead of the linear direction of the GT-Jamrud (N-5) road. It can also reduce environmental pollution. The forum advised ECNEC on the rehabilitation and reconstruction of two projects, Gujjar and Orangi Nullahs in Karachi, with revised costs of Rs 14,956.46 million and Rs 15,083.18 million. The NDMA chairman responded to the CDWP's comments.

The meeting was chaired by the vice-chairman of the planning commission, Dr. Jahanzeba Khan was attended by the Secretary for Communications, the Chairman of the National Disaster Management Office NDMA, the Chairman of the National Highway Authority, members of the Planning Commission and other key stakeholders.
